Unicode Covers Everything

Unicode aims to include every character from every writing system in the world, past and present. It currently supports over 149,000 characters!

Not Actually "Fonts"

The "fonts" generated by this tool aren't actually fonts in the technical sense. They are mathematical alphanumeric symbols from the Unicode standard that just happen to look like styled text.

The First Emoji

The first emoji set was created in 1999 by Shigetaka Kurita in Japan. It included 176 12x12 pixel icons. Now there are over 3,000 standard emojis.

Dead Languages Live On

Unicode includes support for many ancient and historic scripts like Egyptian Hieroglyphs, Cuneiform, and Runic, preserving human history in digital form.
